I have some exciting news to share. I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Manisha from The Archery Parent Podcast to talk about Archery Ranges Canada, why I built it, and where we're headed.
If you've got 25 minutes, I'd love for you to give it a listen.

The Archery Parent Podcast - Archery Ranges Canada
How This Conversation Came Together
Manisha reached out to me after discovering the site, and right away I could tell she was genuinely passionate about growing the archery community in Canada. Her podcast is all about helping archery families navigate the sport, so it felt like a natural fit to come on and talk about what we're doing here.
What We Covered
We got into the whole story. I walked through that lightbulb moment where I realized there was no single, reliable place to find archery ranges across Canada. The provincial lists were outdated, incomplete, and honestly frustrating to use. I started digging around on Reddit and Facebook and quickly realized I wasn't the only one dealing with this.
So I decided to build the solution myself. Two and a half months of work alongside my full-time job and being a dad to three kids. It was a grind, but the response from the community made it all worth it.
We talked about the features of the site — the geolocation search, the subcategory filters for things like birthday parties, youth programs, and women's archery. The interactive map. The detailed range pages with contacts, amenities, bow types, and directions. All the things I wished existed when I was searching for ranges myself.
I also broke down how the listing tiers work for range owners. The Bronze listing is completely free and gets your range on the map. Silver makes everything interactive and adds photos, pricing, and the ability to respond to reviews. And Gold — I called it the Lamborghini of listings — gives you unlimited photos, video integration, featured placement on the homepage, and an event calendar.
One of my favourite parts of the conversation was talking about some of the hidden gems I discovered while building the directory. Places like Forest City Archers in Ontario with their massive 64-acre 3D course, Salt Spring Archery Society out in BC, and Painted Warriors in Alberta offering an incredible indigenous cultural archery experience. These are the kinds of places that deserve more attention, and that's exactly why this directory exists.
What's Next
We've grown from 244 listings at the time of recording to over 428 ranges across all 13 provinces and territories. A five-star review system is in the works so the community can share their experiences. And my long-term goal? I want to visit every single range listed in the directory.
At the end of the episode I shared something that I really believe — archery has a way of bringing people together. In a world that feels more divided every day, this sport connects us through something we all love. That's what drives this project.
