How do I get started in archery as a beginner?
Start with a lesson, so a coach can teach you the basics. Pick your city above, then contact a range on the list and ask when its next class starts.
What bow should I buy first?
You can wait. Since 104 of the ranges that teach also rent gear, you can learn on a rented bow before you spend a cent. When you are ready to buy one of your own, ask your coach which bow fits your size and the way you want to shoot.
How much does it cost to get started?
Each club sets its own price. We do not list lesson prices on this page, so ask the club what it charges before you book, and ask whether the price of renting gear is part of it.
How long does it take to get good?
We will not guess. Nobody can give you an honest number for that, but you can track it yourself. Log your scores on Archery Ranges Canada, and you will earn an ARC Rating. Lower is better, and 0 is perfect, so you will watch it drop as you improve.
